Obituary of Cameron Wolfe
MARION, VIRGINIA: CAMERON L. WOLFE, SR., age 100, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Virginia. Born June 14, 1905 in Marion, Virginia, to the late Z. M. and Mary Elizabeth Pruner Wolfe, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Rose Parsons Wolfe from Grayson County, Virginia. He was the oldest member of the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church which he joined in 1935, and he said that he had always gone to church and enjoyed Sundays. Mr. Wolfe said that the good Lord was in control of his life and that he had worked hard and had a good life. He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 44 years and was named the Grand Marshal of the 1999 Marion Holiday Kaleidoscope Parade. Mr. Wolfe said we all need to be friendly and have a good time in life. He is survived one son, Cameron L. Wolfe, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Nancy D. Wolfe of Marion, Virginia; one sister, Elizabeth Taylor of Marion, Virginia; one brother, James "Willard" Wolfe of Berlin, Maryland. One grandson, Cameron J. Wolfe and wife, Christie of Newport, Rhode Island and Baghdad, Iraq; two great-grandchildren, Caitlin Taylor Wolfe and Cameron Tyler Wolfe; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Alan Gray and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children's Home of the Highlands, P.O. Box 545, Wytheville, Virginia 24382.
