Obituary of John Dillard

CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: JOHN CARLTON DILLARD, age 80, died Saturday, December 24, 2005. He was born April 30, 1925 to the late John and Georgia Greenwood Dillard. John was a lifelong Smyth County farmer and also had worked for Shanklin Dairy. He had attended the Atkins First Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Betty McConnell Dillard of Chilhowie, Virginia; One daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Glenn Dolinger of Chilhowie, Virginia; One sister, Ruth Dillard Black of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia; One brother, Glenn Dillard of Denver City, Texas; One niece, Lisa G. Black of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia and two grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Dolinger of Chilhowie, Virginia. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Charlie Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
