Obituary of Robert E. Fonda, Sr.
SUGAR GROVE, Va.
Robert E. "Bob" Fonda, Sr., age 73, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at his home.
Bob loved his family. He moved to Smyth County in 1998 and opened Bob's Garage. He had a wonderful business helping his friends and many in the community. His helpful nature and friendly way will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ruby Fonda; several brothers and sisters.
Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia Rose Fonda of Sugar Grove, Va.; children, Jennifer Fonda Brown (Brian) of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Robert E. Fonda, Jr. of Wytheville, Va., Matthew Fonda (Lindsey Grant) of Marion, Va.; sisters and brothers, Peggy Drake (Christopher), Alice Vargas, Larry Fonda (Jo Marie) all of Texas; grandchildren, Sean and Katelyn Brown; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor David Medley officiating. Burial will be held in St. Paul Cemetery, Mitchell Street, Oswego, New York.
