Obituary of Almeda Stidham Mills

MARION, Va.

Almeda Stidham Mills, age 87, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Almeda was a wonderful daughter and caretaker of her mother for many years. She also worked as medical secretary and for District Three – Meals on Wheels program. Most importantly, Almeda was faithful to God. She had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior that was unique and like no other, including numerous journals filled with prayer requests, praises, and thank you’s that were personal and especially for God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Tackett Stidham and Ida Belle Sturgill Stidham; two brothers, Tackett Stidham, Jr. and Gaurley Stidham; and an infant sister, Dorothy Stidham.

Almeda is survived by four cousins, GaVaughn Winger, Johnny Sturgill, Kathy Kilbourne and husband, Harold, and Lisa Hampton.

In keeping with Almeda’s wishes, services will be private.
