It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Pastor Janet Grissett and Sloane and I send our condolences to her husband, Tracy, and her family. Pastor Janet was "Real people". She preached God's Word with a passion and honesty that bespoke of her love of God. I'll always carry with me a sermon she preached at Lewisetta Chaple about Gideon's battle with the Midiamites (Judges 7: 1-7), about how with overwhelming odds and not through Gideon's own strength or resources, God will meet every need and victory will be assured with God on your side. Basically, it was a message of faith that was illuminating to me in a very personal way and that I have treasured ever since her sermon. May God's servant, Janet, rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear about Pastor Jan. I thought she was a wonderful, kind hearted person. I enjoyed hearing her speak at Melrose Church and I always walked away feeling good. She even came to my home once and prayed over my elderly sick dog Hannah. I never forgot that. It meant so much to me that she did that. Love hugs and prayers to the family.

I’m so very sorry to hear this news. Pastor Janet will always have a special place in my heart. She was a wonderful person and I’m glad I got to have her as my pastor and friend. She will be missed!

I was devastated to hear about Pastor Jan's death and my heart goes out to Tracy and her family. I have so many fond memories of Pastor Jan. She is why I joined the Methodist Church and her discussions with me on my Lutheran beliefs vs. Methodist beliefs won me over. For that I will always be grateful. Her kindness and willingness to help everyone touched me deeply and re-energized my faith in God. I can't tell you how much we missed her at Melrose. To Tracy & Family
To hear this news had to be very hard to me and my family. Pastor Jan was/is one of those kind of people who Loved with her whole heart.I remember when my daughter Skylynn was going by herself &one day woke me up & said ur going to church. Pastor Jan just always wanted the best for everyone & showed it. I remember waking up from brain surgery &it was her,my mom &dad right there. No matter if you were in the hospital, nursing home,a shut in,she was there.she Loved those mission trips with our youth.. MELROSE UMC FAMILY LOVED YOU Until we are together again RIP Pastor Jan and Love &to you Tracey & Family
