Obituary of Garrett Ryan Davis Powell

MARION, Va.

Garrett Ryan Davis Powell, age 24, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his home.

Garrett was full of life and since a young age fought hard to live each day with Type 1 diabetes and all that went with it. He was crazy about his three children and loved his family dearly. Although he was very stubborn, he always had a smile and reason to make people laugh. Family, life, and Star Wars made him happy; and his happy upbeat personality will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Garrett is survived by his significant other, Amber Rayne Spain; daughters, Raeleigh Grace Rayne Powell and Emmilyne Louise Jean Powell; son, Foxxdon Oliver Wade Powell; father, Ryan Edward Powell and wife, Bonnie; mother, Sara Elaine Debord and husband, Thomas E. Debord, Jr.; sisters, Casey Alexandra Rose Powell, Brittany Allison DeBord, all of Marion, Va.;brothers, Kyle Edward Grayson Powell, Nathan C. Justice,Thomas Edward DeBord, III all of Marion, Va.; grandparents, Ronald and Barbara Powell, Rebecca Jean Cornett, Allen Lance Cornett and wife, Peggy; great-grandparent, Billy Cornett; aunt, Rhonda Pruitt and husband, Jimmy; uncle, Allen Bennett Cornett; and cousin, Jacob Pruitt.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 1, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 8 p.m. with Pastor Steve Hutton and Pastor Bobby Endicott officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Davis Memorial Cemetery, Mill Creek Road, Chilhowie, Va. 24319.
