Obituary of James Samuel "Jim" Corvin
MARION, Va. / PENSACOLA, Fla.
James Samuel “Jim” Corvin, age 70, passed away at his home in Pensacola, Fla., Thursday, September 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born April 19, 1951 in Marion, Va. to the late Bowman Atkins Corvin and Della Lyons Corvin. He was a graduate of Marion Senior High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. After retirement, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and with his many friends. He was a member of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fla. Jim was known for his outgoing personality and great sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bowman Atkins Corvin, Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Ed and Kathleen Walton; brothers-in-law, Alvin and Ben Walton.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife of 46 years, Christine Walton Corvin; children, Matthew Corvin and wife, Diana, and Annie Lundberg and husband, Andy; grandchildren, James and Audrey Corvin, and Emmalyn Lundberg, all of Pensacola, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Jean Harrington, Patty Walton and Robin Walton; brothers-in-law, Dusty Harrington and Danny Walton; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services were held October 1, 2021 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, Pensacola, Fla. A private family graveside service will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at Mountain View Cemetery, Rural Retreat, Va.
