Obituary of Edward Dean Davis

MARION, Va.

Edward Dean Davis, age 73 of Marion, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Irene Davis; father, Edward Earl Davis; brothers Corbin Shuler and Burley Davis; special nieces Kay, Michelle, and Jane.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Gaynelle Davis; his children, Rebecca Richardson and husband, Tim, Dean Allen Davis and wife Kim, Billie Jo Davis and husband, Phillip De Vita; grandchildren, Hope Davis and fiancé, Cody Hobbs, Zach Richardson, Dusty De Vita, Waylon De Vita; and new great-granddaughter Ophila Mae Hobbs; sister, Opal Overbay and husband, Freddie; brothers, C.L. Shuler and Estell Davis; sisters-in-law, Lucille Shuler and Carol Davis; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Reverend Bobby Justice, Brother Randy Pafford and Brother Tim Surber officiating. Burial will be private.

Everyone attending is asked to follow the COVID-19 Safety & Social Distancing Guidelines.
