Obituary of Linda Hester

Ceres, Va.

Linda Hester, age 76, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Linda was a great mom who was sweet and kind to everyone she met. People all over loved to eat Linda's cooking. There were many who loved her and called her mom. She will be missed by her many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lydia Nipper.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Beverly Murphy of Marion, Va.; sons, Billy Carter and fiancée, Elizabeth Bowman, and Steve Carter and wife, Vivian, all of Ceres, Va.; sister, Louise Lott; brother, Jasper Lott; six grandchildren, Amanda Nipper, Belinda Ingram, Jake Tidwell, Johnathan Buchanan, Brandon Bowman and Aubrey Carter; six great-grandchildren, Bella Nipper, Tessa Nipper, Logan Nipper, Sylar Ingram, Oliver Ingram and Ella Bowman; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful four legged companion of 20 years, Dixie.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Ridgedale Cemetery, 1112 Ridgedale Road, Saltville/Rich Valley, VA 24370, with Pastor Michael Hopkins officiating.
