Obituary of Cora Lee Routh Catron

MARION, Va.

CORA LEE ROUTH CATRON, age 93, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.

Cora Lee was born July 13, 1928 in Saltville, Va., the 13th and last child of her parents, the late Oscar and Lydia Frye Routh. She was the last survivor of her siblings. Cora Lee enjoyed spending time with the Ladies Auxiliary of Francis Marion VFW Post #4667, and was a past president.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James F. Catron, Sr.; and two sons, James F. "Jimmy" Catron, Jr. and Johnny C. Catron.

Cora Lee is survived by her granddaughter, Leanna Brooke Catron, whom she loved dearly; two daughters-in-law, Anita Catron and Tina Catron all of Marion, Va.; three sisters-in-law, Reba Catron Bridges and husband, Edward of Atkins, Va., Virginia Catron Mason of Marion, Va. and Imogene Catron Duncan of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Darrell Lambert and Pastor Chuck Stout officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Lawn Mausoleum.
