Obituary of Carrie Poe

MARION, VIRGINIA: CARRIE GORDON POE, age 80, widow of Kyle Edward Poe, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at her home in Marion, Virginia. She was a member of Grosses Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the Southwestern State Hospital. Mrs. Poe is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward and Norma Poe and Jerry Poe all of Marion, Virginia; One sister, Josie Gordon of Chilhowie, Virginia; Two half-sisters, Janice Tuggle of Rural Retreat, Virginia and Helena Sharay of West Virginia; and three half-brothers, Douglas Gordon, Lacy Gordon, and Danny Gordon all of Rural Retreat, Virginia. One sister-in-law, Dosha Payne of Jefferson, North Carolina; Seven grandchildren, Pamela Howell, Connie Snavely, Brian Poe, Christopher Poe, Brandi Poe, Mashasta Carrico, and Jordan Poe; eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nieces also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 25, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Sheets officiating. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until the time of the services at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
