When my dad died in 2008, the day after he died, my sisters and my mother and I were walking around Wassona Circle. We ran across Betty at her mailbox. She took one look at my mother and gave her the biggest hug and told her she would be ok, that the first night alone was the hardest but mother would survive and be ok. It was such a kind gesture on Betty's part and it made my mother feel so much better. Betty was a kind and gracious person with a wonderful personality and so funny! She was so much fun to be around! My condolences to the entire family

I, too, am Elizabeth Scott, and I, too, married James Scott, and our birthdays were both March 23. Such was our newly found connection as we visited and cared for our mothers who were next-door neighbors at Francis Marion Manor. Betty, as she was known by most everyone, was such a beautiful lady inside and out, so outstandingly intelligent, and certainly had that unselfish attribute in caring for others. We used to exchange birthday cards and sometimes Christmas cards, but time takes its toll with friendships fading. My sincere sympathy for your loss of this great lady.

I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. She was a lovely lady, dear friend & a second mom to me growing up in Marion in the 70’s.
