Obituary of Ann Snider
MARION -- Ann Talbert Snider, age 74, died Saturday, 26 November 2005 in Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City TN.
Ann was a native of Abingdon before moving to Marion in 1957, following her marriage to K.B. Snider. When she wasn't playing her passionate hobby bridge, she was an active member of the community working with many organizations, among which were the First United Methodist Church, Smyth-Bland Regional Library, Junior Women's Club, Holston Hills Country Club, the Cotillion Club, the Smyth County Riverwalk and Grassroots Conservancy, William King Regional Arts Center, the Annabel Morris Buchanan Federated Music Club, the Hungry Mother Arts and Crafts Festival, Friends of Hungry Mother State Park, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, C.M. and Louise "Meemaw" Talbert. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mia and John P. "Cal" Maiden of Smyrna GA, two sons and daughters-in-law, Miles and Kim (Russell) Snider of Gray TN and Mark and Teri (Moore) Snider of Hanover County VA, two sisters and a brother-in-law Charlene Templeton of Abingdon VA, and Brenda and John O. Nottingham of Kingsport TN, two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law Evelyn "Tootsie" Berry of Chilhowie VA and Madeline and D.C. "Bud" Crockett of Wytheville VA, six grandchildren, Lindyn, Merrick, Bethany and Brandon Snider and Miles and Matthew Pierce, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Church and Cherry streets, Marion VA on Tuesday evening, 29 November 2005 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., the two hours prior to the service. A private burial service will follow in Rose Lawn cemetery on Wednesday, 30 November 2005.
