Obituary of Karin Petty

Karin Petty, age 82 passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Independence, Va.

Karin was the greatest Mother ever! She was a loving wife, Mom and Granny to the lights of her life. Karin loved to laugh as she was always happy. Her love for God kept her strong and the only love she knew was unconditional. She was funny and loved life, music, bingo, knitting and berry picking. Karin will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Petty; parents, Friedrich and Maria Kahlhofen and sister, Lotte Kahlhofen.

Karin is survived by her daughters, Yvette Healey of Huntersville, NC, Marisa Hager, Charlotte, NC and Elena Browder of Independence, Va.; sister, Brunhilde Von-Gemmingen-Hoernberg of Emmelshausen, Germany; five grandchildren, Olivia Nelson, Jeren Browder, Blake Healey, Evan Healey and Vincent Schmidt; and one great-grandson, Jayden Love.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 5114 NC-18, Sparta, NC 28675.
