Obituary of Marguerite Yost
MARION, VIRGINIA: MARGUERITE MADDOX YOST, age 97, widow of William T. Yost, died Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. Mrs. Yost taught in West Virginia and Maryland for twenty years before moving to Marion in 1962 after the death of her husband. She then taught in the Smyth County School System for fourteen years until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Yost is survived by one daughter and son in-law, Clarissa "Tissie" and Judge Paul Greer of Marion, Virginia; One son and daughter in-law, Dr. Thomas "Tom" and Barbara Bush Yost of Newport News, Virginia; Three grandchildren, Gretchen Kadesch and husband, Brent and Cindy Yost all of Hampton, Virginia and Dr. Leesa Lawrence and husband, Greg of Wilson, North Carolina; Five great-grandchildren, Megan Kadesch, Stacy Kadesch, Mary Kadesch, Nigel Lawerence and Lori Lawrence; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Collins of High Point, North Carolina. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Marion, Virginia with Rev. Jeff Lambert and Mr. Denton Staley officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, West Virginia with Rev. Ray Shriver officiating.
