Obituary of Agnes Pennington
MARION VIRGINIA; AGNES VIOLA PENNINGTON age 80, widow of David Junior Pennington, died Saturday October 1, 2005 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Viginia. She was born in Helen, West Virginia to the late Hobert and Carrie Pennington Hayes. She grew up in Konnarock, Virginia and lived the rest of her life in Smyth County, Virginia. Mrs. Pennington was devoted to her church and was a very Christian lady. She was a member of Zion Hill United Methodist Church. She was very good at crafts and was a seamstress for many years and a mother to all who knew her.
In addition to her Parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister Louise Blevins and two brothers Garnett and O.D. Hayes
She is survived by one son Roger Pennington and wife Phyllis of Myrtle Beach South Carolina; one sister Doris Taylor and husband Alex of Marion, Virginia, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several brother's in-law and sister's in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Sunday October 2, 2005 at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion Virginia with Rev. John Graham and Mr. Greg Sheets officiating. Interment will be at Laurel Cemetery Konnarock 11:00 a.m. Monday October 3, 2005. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
