Obituary of Sadie Allen Cook

Rural Retreat, Va.

Sadie Allen Cook, age 84, of Rural Retreat, Va., formerly of Warriormine, W.Va., passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home.

She was born October 4, 1936 in Litwar, W.Va., the daughter of the late Jessie Allen and Olie Cooper Allen. Sadie was a resident of Rural Retreat since 1993 and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Raymond Cook; one son, Freddie Lee Cook; six brothers, Buck, Sidney, Henry, Lee, Bill, and John Allen; two sisters, Ada Short and Linda Sue Blevins.

Sadie is survived by her daughter, Deborah Smith and husband, Steven; two sons, Chico Cook and wife, Connie all of Rural Retreat, Va., Raymond Cook and wife,  Cindy of Garfield Heights, Oh.; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Yukon #2 Community Church in Yukon, W.Va. with Pastor Coy Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Mullins Cemetery on Estep Ridge. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Yukon #2 Community Church. Family and friends are asked to follow the COVID-19 Safety & Social Distancing Guidelines.
