Obituary of Everlyn "Denise" Lester Russell Southwick

ABINGDON, Va.

EVERLYN "DENISE" LESTER RUSSELL SOUTHWICK, age 47 passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

It is with a heavy heart, that I will write the obituary of our sweet, beautiful sister, Neese. Denise was born January 7, 1974 to the late Ronny Hubert Lester, and Patricia Haywood Lester. She was a lover of the great outdoors and all animals, particularly horses. But her most prized possession were her children.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her niece, Kristel Lester.

Left to cherish Denise's memory are, the love of her life, Rick Mazoway of Abingdon, Va.; children, Ronny Aaron Russell and loving girlfriend, Laura Leonard of Johnson City, Tenn., Chase Russell and girlfriend, Emily Lafleur of Bristol, Va., Makayla Southwick, of the home; mother, Patricia Haywood Lester of Abingdon, Va.; brother, Ronny Lester and wife Cheryl of Abingdon, Va.; sister, Beverly Lester of Berea, S.C.; nieces, Kayla Lester and husband, Jerry Ray, Lakyn Lester and fiancé, Ashley Singleton, Jacquline Isom and fiancé, Sean Carter; great-nephews, Dylan Lester, Braeden Blankenship and Hunter Lester; great-niece, Aaliyah Blankenship.

Memorial services will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion, Va. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Family and friends are asked to follow the COVID-19 Safety & Social Distancing Guidelines.
