Obituary of Gloria Hope Lyons

ST. PAUL, Va.

Gloria Hope Lyons, age 89, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Mountain View Assisted Living Facility, Lebanon, Va.

Born in Kentucky in 1931, Gloria moved to Virginia and attended Radford University. There she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Physics. After graduation, she worked for NASA for several years and later in life was a teacher in the Norton Public School System, sharing her love for the sciences with her numerous students. She was considered a brilliant lady, whose intelligence took her many directions that in the 1950's, was rare for a woman to go.

Gloria is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many former students and co-workers.

There will be no public services at this time.
