Obituary of Clarise Jane McGrady
MARION, Va.
Clarise Jane McGrady, age 79, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Va.
Clarise was the rock of her family – making sure everyone was loved and fed. She took care of her family and made sure the house was a home. When she wasn’t cooking, she loved game shows, her dog Pixie, and taking care of the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Robert. Clarise enjoyed crossword puzzles, drinking coffee, and being comfortable. Her tomato bread pudding and kind way will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tillman and Beulah Idol; and five siblings.
Clarise is survived by her husband, Robert McGrady of Marion, Va.; sons, David McGrady and wife, Lorrie of Marion, Va., and Billy McGrady and wife, Karen of Austinville, Va.; sister, Helen Hassel of Charlottesville, Va.; grandchildren, Billy Thomas, Joshua McGrady, Brianne Mitchem, Nolan McGrady and Kaitlyn McGrady; special nieces, Shelia Parks and Shirley Browning, both of Marion, Va.; several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 6 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Mark Totten officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, 4410 Lee Hwy., Marion, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Family and friends are asked to follow the COVID-19 Safety & Social Distancing Guidelines.
