Obituary of Juanita Lee Queen Cooper
SEVEN MILE FORD, Va.
Juanita Lee Queen Cooper, age 89, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at NHC Healthcare of Johnson City, Tenn. after a long illness.
Juanita was born November 6, 1931 in Grayson County Va. to the late William and Dora Queen. She was a faithful member of Chilhowie Baptist Church where she served until she became homebound. Juanita loved her church, especially her Pastors, Chuck Herrell and Cody Sturgill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stover F. Cooper; son, William F. Cooper, sister and brother-in-law, Eula and Tom Russell; brother, James Queen; son-in-law, Donald Gillespie; and grandson, Bradley Barr.
Juanita is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth “Ann” Gillespie of Marion, Va., Brenda Brooks (Daren) of Chilhowie, Va.; sons, Jack Cooper (Judy) of Callahan, Fla., Richard Cooper (Sandra) of Newport News, Va.; daughter-in-law, Sandra Cooper of Glade Spring, Va.; sister-in-law, Marleda Queen of Marion, Va.; eight grandchildren, Tarina Delano (Scott) of Callahan, Fla., Jason Cooper (Kristen), Christopher Cooper all of Newport, News, Va., Zoe and Amber Cooper of Dunoon, Scotland, Justin Brooks of Chilhowie, Va., Bruce Barr of Fayetteville, N.C. and Justin Barr (Brandi) of Fort Pierce, Fla.; eighteen great-grandchildren, Talli, Ethan, Dalton, Emily, Garett, Iona, Nathaniel, Kendra, Will, Gavin, Triniti, Landin, Dominic, Montana, Braydon, Ryleigh, Taelyn and Parker; three great-great-grandchildren, Isabella Grace, Lily Ann and Lucas Clay; children of love, Jimmy and Debbie Schwartz, Ricky and Donna Sue Schwartz all of Marion, Va., Glenn and Shelia Craig of Jacksonville, Fla., Linda Horne of Seven Mile Ford, Va.; many nieces and nephews; special neighbors and friends; special caregiver, Tammy DeBord; and caring doctor, Sarah Johnson.
A special thank you to the NHC staff for the love and care they gave our Moma in her final days.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Grassy Creek Road and Junction of Rugby Road, Rugby, Grayson County, Va. with Pastor Chuck Herrell and Pastor Cody Sturgill of Chilhowie Baptist Church officiating.
