Obituary of Leokadia "Lydia" Hajek

ABINGDON, Va.

Leokadia “Lydia” Hajek, age 88, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Abingdon Health & Rehab.

Born in Poland in 1933, Lydia faced many adversities, including the Holocaust. The stories she told her family included being in the presence of Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler on more than one occasion. Despite the harrowing circumstances, Lydia was a survivor, and a strong, determined, loving woman. Her legacy of surviving, strength, and determination will continue through the love of her family.

At the family’s request, survivors and services will be kept private.
