Obituary of Roy Lee Bailey

CASTLEWOOD, Va.

Roy Lee Bailey, age 83, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Maple Grove Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center – Lebanon, Va.

Roy was a loving husband, daddy and paw to some of his most favorite people. He was a hard worker after retiring from the U.S. Army with 23 years of service. He worked construction, machine shops, mowing, and taking care of his family. He loved his country and proudly served in Vietnam and afterwards. Roy will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Bailey; parents, Wess and Inez Bailey; and two siblings.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Connie Kennedy and husband, Greg of Castlewood, Va., Tammy Maeda and Sherman Watkins of Saltville, Va.; son, David Bailey of Castlewood, Va.; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zachary, Nikki, Josh, Jared, Jonathan, Elaina, Sadie and Chris; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Skylar, Cadyn, Sam, Lacey, and Morgan; four sisters; two brothers; several nieces and nephews; next door neighbors and special friends, Debbie and Gary Gibson; and beloved Chihuahua, Molly.
