Obituary of Shirley Marie Cress Hutton

MARION, Va.

Shirley Marie Cress Hutton, age 65, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Ballad Hospice House, Bristol, Tenn.

Shirley loved everybody. She was crazy about her family – even Jerry. Shirley loved the little ones who knew her as Na – Na. When she could be with family she loved to camp, fish, hunt, and just be outdoors. After Shirley was saved, she became the Chapel's #1 VBS Fan! Shirley was proud of her nephew Chico and her President, Donald Trump. Shirley Hutton is probably hunting antiques or a good yard sale in Heaven today. She is going to be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hutton; parents, Herman Cress, Sr. and Virginia Cress; brother, Danny Cress, Sr.; and nephew, Danny "Chico" Cress, Jr.

Shirley is survived by her son, Carter Lee Hawkins, Sr. and wife, Dorothy of Marion, Va.; brothers, Pastor Herman Cress and wife, Pam of Marion, Va., and Jerry Cress and wife, Anita of Sugar Grove, Va.; six grandchildren, Alayna, Braden, Bhrianna, Sarah, Kaitlin, and Carter, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Herman Cress officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
