Mary G Berkaw posted a condolence
Saturday, September 26, 2020
I grew up in Ebenezer, in fact was married there. After marriage our life was in Summerville, South Carolina. We were both Virginians and my husband longed to get back to Virginia. Following the death of both his parents we returned to Marion, building on part of my family's farm. When we began attending Ebenezer, we chose to sit up front, thinking we would not be taking someone's pew. As it happened, Mary was not at church that first Sunday. The next Sunday, Pastor Andrew referenced 'Mary' in the congregation. I wondered 'why me' but as it was, I was sitting right behind 'the Mary'. He then acknowledged 'both Mary s'. We continued to enjoy her from then until she was no longer able to attend. In reading her Obituary I discover that we not only shared first but also middle names. My sincere condolences to each of you. Mary Elizabeth Groseclose Berkaw

Mary has been such a blessing in our lives. She always expressed great interest in our personal family and our church family. She was very faithful to serve others and the church. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Our condolences,
