Obituary of Jerry Hager
KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE: JERRY DEAN HAGER, age 52, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at his home in Kingsport, Tennessee. Born September 8, 1952 in Marion, Virginia to Jack and Gladys Elmore Hager, he was of the Baptist Faith and was a graduate of Marion Senior High School and East Tennessee State University. He served in the United States Marine Corp., worked in the Post Office in Bristol, Tennessee, and volunteered his time for the Crisis Center of Bristol where he received numerous awards for his dedicated service. Jerry was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hager. In addition to his mother, Gladys Widner of Marion, Virginia, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Mark Boyd of Richlands, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Becky Hager of Bristol, Virginia; One sister, Debbie Hager of Marion, Virginia; Three brothers and one sister-in-law, Ron Hager of Roanoke, Virginia, Tim and Bonnie Hager and Danny Hager all of Salem, Virginia. Seven grandchildren, Ivan, Leif, and Otto Hager, Jarrad Hager, Morgan Wallace, Blake Boyd, and Cameron Boyd; three nephews, Britt, Michael, and Adam Hager; Special friends, Don and Judy Henderlite of Marion, Virginia, also survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mark Totten officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
