To Janie's family,
I wish to express my deepest condolences to Janie's family. I remember her well from Guardian Angel :) Those chubby cheeks and her sweet personality. Too soon......

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalm 23

For Janie's Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy & prayers. I am so very sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of carrying Janie to Guardian Angel Academy each morning along with my children & her frequent visits to our home when we were neighbors.
There was a stained glass window of the Good Shepherd at the old GAA school site & the 23rd Psalm came to mind when I heard about Janie passing from this world to the next.
May God bless you each & comfort you in His abiding love that knows no end or separations.

Miss you Janie, wish I could have seen you one last time. These days we spent on the roof of the Staunton parking garage are how I'll always remember you.

To Janie's Family, Friends, and Loved Ones:
I am sending my deepest condolences to you all during this time. I first met Janie when we were both 9 years old and we instantly became friends. We spent weekends together with other friends at GAA, enjoyed time with her incredible family, and got into our fair share of adolescent adventures.
One of my favorite memories of Janie will be our time together during the production of 'Grease' with mutual friend, Rima in high school. From her love of Harry Potter to french onion soup (never understood that) to classic films to her faith to her love of others, Janie was a light.
Dean, Caroline, Anne, Jonathan, David, Joseph, and Daniel I am thinking of you all and sending prayers and love. Chris, I am so sorry for your loss. I have found some comfort in Maya Angelou and am keeping you all in my thoughts. Janie always reminded me that life was made for the living and to live in the moment. I will remember you forever, friend.

“When Great Trees Fall
When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.
When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.
When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.
Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,
fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance
of dark, cold
caves.
And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.”

Tristan, thank you for your empathetic response. I read it yesterday several times and cried a lot. We talked about you fondly many times over the years...Janie existed. She existed. We can be. Be and be better. For Janie existed....You are Janie's good friend!!!

Love and miss you, sweet Janie. I’m so thankful that we will see each other again. I will always be thankful for you introducing me to Jesus as a teenager. You are so special to me.
