Obituary of Harold Blevins

MARION, VIRGINIA: HAROLD J. BLEVINS, age 58, died Saturday August 20, 2005 at Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Blevins was born in Smyth County to Harold W. and Elizabeth Delp Blevins. He was of the Baptist faith and a loving Husband, Father and Papaw. Mr. Blevins was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Air Force. He was employed by Royal Moldings for 33 years where he was an active member of the golfing and fishing crew. Harold was preceded in death by his father and one infant sister Kathy Sue Blevins. He is survived by his wife, Shirley W. Blevins of Marion Virginia; one daughter, Kimberly Michelle Blevins of Marion Virginia; one Special grandson, Logan Blevins of Marion Virginia; one special friend Ronnie Martin, of Marion; one step daughter Sherri Mercer of Saltville Virginia; His mother Elizabeth D. Blevins of Marion; two sisters Brenda Woods of Marion Virginia, and Sharon Combs of Rural Retreat Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday August 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Sam Slemp, Rev. Kenny Gilbert and Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion Virginia where the Francis Marion VFW Post # 4667 will conduct the Military Burial Service. The family will receive friends Sunday August 21, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
