Celebration of Life Michael “Mike” William Parks
November 08, 1965 “The Dash” January 24, 2020
Sugar Grove, Virginia
Mike united with the Heavenly Father on Friday, January 24, 2020. II Corinthians 5:8 states “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
Mike was a hard-working and dedicated family man who always wanted to be remember by the “THE DASH” between birth and death of the flesh. “The Dash” represented who Mike was on earth. He was a child of our Heavenly Father, Dedicated husband, father, Papaw, son, brother and friend. He was employed 24 years with VDOT and a successful farmer.
Mike married his main squeeze, Drusilla Parks almost 35 years ago, with whom they had three precious granddaughters Emily, Gracie, and Ava of the home. He taught them to farm, hunt, to work hard, to love nature, and how to show love and appreciation for life. His most prized and cherished title was Pap! Mike also is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Parks; step-daughters, Dana Craver and Jackie Colin; mother, Hattie Cullop; father, James Parks Sr.; brothers, James Parks, Jr and Steve Parks; sister, Lisa Reedy; special heart adopted son, Kenny Cole; special brother by another mother, Mike Brooks; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and a world of friends.
The family will receive friends and celebrate Mike’s life, Monday, February 3, 2020 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
