Our families were friends and Barbara a classmate of my sister, Nancy Elkins, and me at Brevard High School. She was an important part of our youth, and I am glad we saw each other on occasion through the ensuing years -- though I had not known when she or A.V. died and just now express sympathy.
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen."

I'm so sorry to hear about Mrs. O'Neal's passing. I worked with her for many years at Marion Primary School. She was loved by the students and faculty. The second grade teachers took our students to the Settler's Museum every year. She would help them sew a bean bag and teach them about going to school in a one room schoolhouse. During the time we worked together, she talked of her husband often and I could see the great love she had for him! My prayers and thoughts are with the family! Amy DeBord

Barbara is my Mom and I’m missing her greatly. I wanted to post a memory as I cannot attend the funeral due to my health. She did the very best she could with what she had. She loved me dearly and always told me each time we spoke. She taught me so much about life and the World. Her artistic nature helped nurture the same thing in me as a writer as AV did with my photography. She loved life and all of its people. She will be greatly missed. I love her dearly and always will keep her and AV close in my heart. Mom, I miss you so much and I know you are finally free from pain. You and AV are together and what a happy family reunion it must be. I will see you again. My beautiful Mom, I love you.

Barbara very quickly filled my heart with so much joy & love. She was like a mother to me and a great friend. We prayed together and never parted without saying ILoveYou. She will forever be missed. Sending my condolences to the family. She is back with A.V. & at peace

One of the most kind and original women I had the honor of knowing. Barbara always had a smile and kind word. She touched many lives of children and adults during her time in early childhood education. Students loved having her as a substitute. Much love and peace to family and friends in the days ahead.

I loved Me and Mrs Neal. Always so polite and kind to everyone they meet. Mrs Neal and I often substituted together at the same schools .she would always smile and had a kind word .Always loved watching Me Neal take pictures of VFW events and she was right there by his side.
