My first memories of "Miss Waak" comes from my primary school experience since she was my second grade teacher! I remember her with many fond memories as one of my best teachers in the Smyth County School system. Her kindness and "soft-spoken" voice was what I needed most as a very shy second grader. I am now almost 72 and she will always be my wonderful, caring teacher who taught me well! Blessings on the family during these days of her loss! Her legacy lives on in the lives of many of us, her former students.

I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She and my mom were good friends from many years of attending Ebenezer Lutheran Church and shopping at Cornett Jewelers. She really wanted to visit Lois but was just unable to get out much when she got sick. I remember how sweet she was when we were all kids growing up together in church. Her smile was always wonderful to see. Prayers for your family in this time of grief.
