Obituary of Deborah "Debbie" Sage Richardson

RURAL RETREAT, Va. DEBORAH "DEBBIE" SAGE RICHARDSON, age 62, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Salem, Va. Debbie loved her family—she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a devoted Christian and member of Brookside Baptist Church. Debbie was happiest at home with her family and dogs. She loved crafting, sewing, and decorating her home for Christmas and other special occasions. Debbie enjoyed spending time with Rick in Pigeon Forge and several family vacations through the years. She will be certainly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Walter and Daisy Mae Jones Sage. Debbie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rick Richardson; two daughters, Amanda Richardson Grubb and Cari Rebecka Richardson; sister, Vanessa Hedrick and husband, Richard, all of Rural Retreat, Va.; brother, Dennis Sage and wife, Lynn, of Hiram, Ga.; grandchildren, Clayton, Lilly, Layne, and Chase; several nieces, nephews, and other loving family also survive; and dogs, Rottie and Deogee. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Brookside Baptist Church in Sugar Grove, Va. with Pastor David Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Rugby, Va. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Brookside Baptist Church.
