Lydia Mae Farmer

Obituary of Lydia Mae Jackson Farmer

MARION, Va.

LYDIA MAE JACKSON FARMER, age 78, passed away Wednesday, May 01, 2019 at Valley Healthcare Center, Chilhowie, Va.

Miss Lydia would want to know right away if you had Jesus in your heart! She was a long-time member of Adwolfe Freewill Baptist Church. It didn’t matter who you were or where you were from – you were her brother or sister and she loved you. Lydia loved her family and was so proud of her “60” grandchildren. She loved to sing, go to church, and be with her family. Lydia loved birds, and feeding and watching them. Her bigger than life personality and loving way will be missed by so many, but there is comfort in knowing she is with her Jesus!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Farmer; daughter, Donna Farmer; parents, Joe and Stella Jackson; four brothers; and two sisters.

Lydia is survived by her daughter, Patricia Calahan and husband, Tommy; sister, Faye Mullins and husband, Wayne, all of Marion, Va.; brothers, Bodie Jackson, Harold Jackson and wife, Chris, all of Clinton, Iowa, Dan Jackson and wife, Brenda of Chilhowie, Va., and Ronnie Jackson of Marion, Va.; grandchildren, Amanda Terry and husband, Ricky of Chilhowie, Va., Jessica Heath of Jefferson City, Tenn., Joshua Heath and wife, Chelsea, April Calahan and fiancé, Shawn Neal, all of Marion, Va.; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cheyenne, Cody, James, Summer, Olivia, Michael, Alanza, Damien, Cora and Mailee; special friend, Norma Powers of Marion, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the 3rd Wing staff at Valley Healthcare Center.
