Obituary of Thomas Patrick Moore
MARION, Va.
THOMAS PATRICK "PAT" MOORE, age 68, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, Tenn.
Pat Moore was a loving husband for 45 years – dad to his kids, and number one papaw to his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anybody. People just loved Pat. He made many friends over the years working at Utility Trailer, Royal Mouldings and the State Hospital, just to name a few. He worked three jobs when his children were born so Kathy could stay home and raise them. When he wasn't working, he was outside where he loved to mow and ride all things John Deere Green. Pat Moore loved his family, his community and his country - where he proudly served in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a great man and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Grover Thomas and Maude Moore; mother, Ellen Todd Moore; and brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Virginia Moore.
Pat is survived by his wife, Kathy Reedy Moore of Marion, Va.; daughter, Amy Boltinghouse and husband, James of Atkins, Va.; sons, Chris Moore and wife, Gina and Ryan Moore, all of Marion, Va.; sister, Cindy Moore of Miami, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Ally, Val, Madison, Matt, Kaycey, Oliver and Pippin; great-granddaughter, Aya; several nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the U.S. Marines and Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
