Obituary of Maxine Anderson Bullins
SUGAR GROVE, Va.
MAXINE ANDERSON BULLINS, age 99, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Fields and Lessie Anderson and was a member of Elizabeth Methodist Church. Mrs. Bullins was a loving wife and mother. She loved children and that was a good thing given all of her brothers and sisters. Maxine was a school teacher for three years at the Teas Combined School and then a teacher’s aide for the Sugar Grove Combined School for six years. Before that she riveted windows on airplanes for Glen L. Martin in Baltimore, Md. After teaching she went to work for Harwood Manufacturing and retired after 20 years. Her kind ways and delicious cooking will be missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Bullins; sisters, Kate Stevenson, Mary Lou Adams and Nell Sanders; brothers, James Anderson, Harry Anderson, Dave Anderson, Charles Anderson, Steven Anderson, Glenn Anderson and Kenneth Bryant Anderson.
Maxine is survived by two sons, Edward C. Bullins Jr. and wife, Marie Claire of Sugar Grove, Va. and James Michael Bullins and wife, Lisa of Bristol, Tenn.; one grandson, Justin Edward Bullins; one granddaughter, Beth Peters; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Peters; two great-grandsons, Clay James Bullins and Jordan Peters; one sister, Ruth Silvers of Chilhowie, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12 noon at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Mike Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Va. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
