Deepest condolences and prayers to Anna’s family. Please know that she and Roddy left their marks on a whole bunch of us kids who grew up in Adwolfe and Smyth County through their volunteering with 4-H and other programs.
Put simply, many of us are who we are thanks their loving influences. I’m grateful to have known them both in my youth.
Blessings,
Chuck Brown

Anna was an inspiration to all who knew her. It was her joy for life and her smile that encouraged us. Anna will be greatly missed by her Roanoke College friends and the entire Marion College Alumni Association. She truly lived the Marion Ideal.
The Marion Ideal
To care for what is, rather than for what seems…
To be loyal to the traditions of the past,
yet open to the discoveries of the present and the hopes of the future…
To find freedom in knowledge of the truth, beauty in the common sphere
of daily living, joy in love and friendship, strength in constructive service…
To play happily and work honestly…
To believe in God and God’s children…
To serve where service is the most needed…
This is the ideal of Marion College.
THE MARION IDEAL

Ah, what a lost to all of us, her family, friends, church, and those of us who knew her from Marion College days and the reunions afterwards....... she was a good friend, a warm friend/person to all of us who knew her. I have enjoyed, since moving back to Marion for my retirement yrs, my reconnection with Anna at our church, and Marion College Reunions and the many visits in her home. A gracious and very Southern lady has left our midst and she will be truly missed, but we will meet again some day.....rest my dear friend for you now have your reward for the LIFE that you gave to all of us!!

Anna will surely be missed. She was a true treasure in our church. We always looked forward to her smile and hugs on Sunday mornings. She was the kindest, dearest and strongest woman We Have ever known and we should all strive to be more like her. We loved her and will miss her deeply, but it is reassuring to know she is now pain free and with those she loved the most. Joe & Deb

Our heart goes out to all of you, she was a delightful person and I know, even though you know, she is well and with the precious Lord and her husband, son, and parents, it still leaves a big hole in your hearts. We loved her as well and will miss seeing her. She always had a smile. We will be with you in our thoughts and prayers, May God give you peace and strength in this sad time.

Anna was my Home Economics teacher at Marion College where she became my mentor for years to come. We became good friends in Marion Junior Womans Club. I have always considered Anna a really good friend, a super strong woman, and a major fighter. My sincere condolences to her family.

Heaven truly gained an angel when Anna passed away. There's a celebration going on with her being reunited with family and friends. Especially Mr. Crabtree who she has missed for the last 8 years.
I am so fortunate to have known Anna and to have called her my friend. A more lovely person you won't be able to find.
Rest easy my friend, my sister you will be missed. I love you.
