Seeing this broke my heart. I worked the last 9 years before I retired from General Dynamics in 2009 with Richard, just me and him every day on the job, I knew him like a brother, . He loved his family and we talked every day about his family. He was my best buddy in the whole factory. He was always a gentleman and a honest man and a God loving man who loved every one I loved him like a brother. R I P Brother Richard

Alf, was one of the best friends I ever had for the last 20 years at General Dynamics He was always caring,respectful and thought about others. He was funny and had a sense of humor. Richard was a good man who loved his family, loved his community, and cared for everyone he met. He was a hard-worker who wanted to the best at everything he did- and he succeeded in that!
He was well loved and greatly respected by the Sugar Grove community. He will be missed.
I want to extend my heartfelt love and sympathy to his family and his friends.
I loved him like a son and will miss him greatly, but take consolation that he is at rest with his father in heaven.

I rem... Richard back when were all just teenagers, what i can truly say is that he was always kind and friendly. I met Richard several years ago at my mom's place there on Teas Road. He became a great friend who shared in laughter, story swapping, concerns for world and love for family. His belief in high standards, respect and kindness for all was wonderful and appreciated in a world that can be not so friendly. My family appreciated Richard's care and unwavering friendship. We feel deep grief at the loss of our kindred spirit friend, but know he is resting in peace with the Lord. We miss him. We send love and condolences to the remarkable Alford family.
