Obituary of James Halsey

MARION, VIRGNIA: JAMES R. HALSEY, age 70, died Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Smyth County Community Hospital. He was retired from American Furniture Company and was preceded in death by his parents, George and Esther Testerman Halsey and one sister, Barbara Mahaffey. Mr. Halsey is survived by his wife, Violet Goble Halsey of Marion, Virginia. One son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Jessica Halsey of Marion, Virginia. Two sisters, Linda Gougen and Lana Patchell both of Northeast, Maryland. Two brothers, Randy Halsey of Hickory, North Carolina and Roger Halsey of Elkton Maryland. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
