Obituary of James Everett Edmisten
James Everett Edmisten, age 67, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va.
He was born August 26, 1950 in Chilhowie, Va. to Carrie Edmisten and the late Robert "Sleepy" Edmisten.
James is survived by four children, Patricia Molinary and husband, Pete of St. Paul, Va., Melissa Lawson and husband, Dave of Farmville, Va., Melanie Teaters of Chilhowie, Va., and Chris Edmisten and wife, Nikki of Marion, Va.; his mother, Carrie Edmisten of Chilhowie, Va.; five siblings, Bob Edmisten and wife, Faye of Abingdon, Va., Nancy Fields and husband, Bob of Chilhowie, Va., Johnny Jackson and wife, Lynn of Marion, Va., Janie Tolbert and husband, Hackel of Saltville, Va., and Jerry Jackson and wife, Kathy of Chilhowie, Va.; grandchildren, Jessica Yonts and husband, Todd, Shane Teaters, Kayla Lyles and boyfriend, Mickey Pruitt, all of Chilhowie, Va., Ryan Widener and girlfriend, Meadow McCracken, and Kaitlyn Widener and boyfriend, Tyler Lewis; great-grandchildren, Dustin Yonts, Ethan Yonts, Waylon Pruitt, and one due in December; former wife, Ann Edmisten; and special friends, Lynn and Mary Reynolds.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Vann Seal officiating. Burial will follow in Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va. Active pallbearers will be Dave Lawson, Ryan Widener, Steve Widener, Shane Teaters, Gary Poe, and Chris Edmisten. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
