Obituary of Shannon Jean Vance

MARION, Va.

Shannon J. Vance, age 39, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.

Shannon was one of a kind. Her personality was one to remember if you were acquainted with her. If she liked you, she was a friend to the end. If you crossed her…well…good luck! She made a lot of friends through work including touching numerous truck drivers and their wives lives, as the road could certainly be lonely. She had never met a stranger. Battleship and Twister, watched over and over, were two of her favorite movies. She loved to read; and Blue Bloods was her favorite t.v. show. Above all, Shannon will be remembered by her family and friends as a very loving and kind person, and one to always have your back if she knew you were right. She will be missed!

She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen A. Vance.

Shannon is survived by her father, Ron Lee Vance; brother, Shawn Lee Vance, both of Marion, Va.; step-sister, Lori Ann Dorey of Milford, Del.; aunt, Kathy Foster and husband, Scott of Jacksonville, N.C.; close family friends, Darlene Wolfe of Marion, Va., Patty Spencer of Rural Retreat, Va., Jeff Wolfe of Marion, Va., and Missy Goins of Chilhowie, Va.; and numerous special friends and co-workers from Wilco Flying J.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 11, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will be private.
