Obituary of Patsy Elizabeth Patton

MARION, Va.

Patsy Elizabeth Ross Patton, age 76, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at her home.

She was born on August 30, 1941 in Smyth County to the late Raymond and Mary Ross. Patsy loved to be outside working in her yard, mowing and planting flowers. She loved to cook for her family and they loved her cooking. People from all over had the treat of eating her great food. Patsy worked in the bakery at Ingles for over 15 years. She was always an encourager and received joy in helping others. Sammy Frye said he wished he had a hundred Patsy's… there was only one and she will be missed!

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Douglas Patton and brother Thomas Ross.

Patsy is survived by two daughters, Lynn Greer and husband, Ray of Rural Retreat, Va., Pamela Patton, of Marion Va.; son, Raymond Allen Patton of Marion Va.; brother, Paul Ross, Marion, Va.;sister-in-law, Sue Patton, of Tifton, Ga.; grandchildren, Amber Patton Testerman, Courtney Blevins, Jessica Patton, James Greer, Dustin Greer and her very special grandson, Michael "my boy" Greer; very special cousin, Joan Farmer; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at 12 noon on Monday June 4, 2018 at Seaver-Brown Funeral Chapel until 1p.m. A private family funeral service and burial at Rose Lawn Cemetery will follow.
