Obituary of Clinton Fox Hays

CHILHOWIE, Va.

CLINTON FOX HAYS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the age of 88 years.

He was born March 2, 1930, in Ceres, Va., the son of Robert James Hays and Mary Fulton (Kegley) Hays. Mr. Hays was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Hays, George Hays, and Calvin Hays; and sister, Mary Ann (Hays) Buchanan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara (Brake) Hays. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Couliette Goodwin and her husband John Goodwin; and grandchildren, Clint, Hannah, and Will Goodwin.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Andrew Parkey officiating. Burial will follow in Hays Family Cemetery, Ceres, Va. with Military Rites conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
