Obituary of Lorraine Joyce Woodcock Pierce

TROUTDALE, Va. LORRAINE JOYCE WOODCOCK PIERCE, age 86, of Troutdale, Va. passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Va. She was born September 17, 1931 in Flint Mi. to the late Floyd Carl and Zella Merle Berryhill Woodcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Larry" Blake Pierce. Lorraine retired after 20 plus years from working with Dr. Cranton, Dr. Merker and Dr. Castro in Troutdale, Va. She loved her animals, the mountains, and wildlife of Southwest Virginia. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Diane Pierce Warren and fiancé, Brad Rorvick; sons, Lawrence S. Pierce, Richard L. Pierce and Gary R. Pierce and wife, Penny; grandchildren, Rhonda Warren Dean, Mastin E. Warren and fiancé, Kayla Croy, Kellie A. Pierce, Amanda Pierce, and Heather Rorvick; great -grandchildren, Aaron V. Paschal, Lucas W. Barnes, Will Barnes, Hannah Barnes, Markas Warren, Makenna Warren; and Elizabeth Lena Marie Guy; and sister, Mary Lou Hayes of Midland, Mi. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Valley Health Care Center for all the extended care given. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Andrew Bansamer officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Hill Cemetery, Troutdale, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 3 until 5 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
