Obituary of Neely Coridilla Bentley Armstrong

Rural Retreat, Va.

Neely Coridilla Bentley Armstrong, age 82, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 1, 1935 in Tazewell County, Va. to the late Ed and Ella Mae Bentley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bill Armstrong; one child, Sherry Ann Armstrong and 10 siblings.

Neely will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She was known as "Mama" by everyone. She will be missed!

Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her children, Agnes Pruitt and husband Ralph, Charlie Armstrong and wife Phyllis, Jerry Armstrong, Jim Armstrong and wife, Diana, Julia Tate and husband, Teddy and Billy Armstrong; sisters, Donna and Nancy; brothers, George and John Henry;18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Va. Pastor Thomas Ely officiating. Graveside service will be held Thursday, at 2 p.m. at Ridgedale Cemetery, Rich Valley, Va. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
