Obituary of Tommy Trent

CHILHOWIE, Va.

Tommy Trent, age 64, received his angel wings, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Tommy was a good and loving son, husband, father, papaw and friend. If you needed your mower, weed-eater, or chainsaw fixed, Tommy was the “go to guy” at Francis Brothers, where he worked for more than 25 years. He loved his Lord and was faithful to his church, the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Chilhowie, Va. After he retired, he’d still work on small engines, and then ride his grandkids on the four-wheeler. Tommy will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ella Ruth Trent.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Connie Trent; daughter, Christina Cruey and husband, Roger, all of Chilhowie, Va.; sons, Earl Trent and wife, Barbara of Harmony, N.C., and Adam Trent and wife, Lisa of Chilhowie, Va.; brothers, Eddie Dean Trent and wife, Shirley of Meadowview, Va., Harold Junior Trent and wife, Virginia of Glade Spring, Va., and Ricky Allen Trent and wife, LuCinda of Ohio; nine grandchildren, Steven & Makala, Austin & Hannah, Cody, JoAnna, Lucille & Mark, Balen, Makenna, Candice and Kendra; great-granddaughter, Madalyn; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 6 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Ernie Powers and Reverend Arnold Peters officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m.at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Va. and Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Chilhowie, Va.
