Obituary of Violet Goble Halsey
MARION, Va.
Violet G. Halsey, age 81, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her home in Marion, Va.
Violet was born November 13, 1936 to the late Luther and Dora Goble.
She was a loving, caring mother, mother-in-law, and wife. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James R. Halsey; brothers, William Goble, Wiley Goble, David Goble, Eugene Goble and Sterling Goble; sisters, Lulabelle Funk, Mary Powell and Francis Privett.
Violet is survived her son, James Edward “Eddy” Halsey and wife Jessica of Marion, Virginia; special nieces, Debbie, Shirley, and Anita; and several nieces, nephews and many close and special friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver- Brown Chapel with Pastor Don Mutter officiating. Graveside services will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery, following services. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m.
