Obituary of Jamie Darius Wymer

MARION, Va.

Jamie Darius Wymer, age 44, went to be with his Lord Friday, January 26, 2018 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.

Jamie was just a great guy. He was quiet, but ready to lend an ear or helping hand to anyone. He was a caring, loving father, husband, son, grandson and brother. If you needed a friend, you wouldn’t find a better one. He loved his Lord, his family, his friends, the Hokies and the Redskins. His gentle and friendly way will be missed.

Jamie is survived by his wife, Melanie Denise Wymer of Marion, Va.; daughter, Jade Wymer of Marion, Va.; step-son, Jacob Blevins of Marion, Va.; step-daughters, Carrington Baxter of Marion, Va. and Montana Phipps of Sugar Grove, Va.; mother and step-father, Sherry and Roger Dennison of Marion, Va.; brother, Alex Taylor and girlfriend, Katherine Meek of Bristol, Va.; grandparents, Curtis and Emma Jean Wymer, of Marion, Va.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Debbie Blevins, of Marion, Va.; sisters-in-law, Marisa Meadows and husband, Josh and their children of Marion, Va., Michelle Dempsey and husband, Jared and their children of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandmother-in-law, Shirley Blevins of Marion, Va.; special friends, Jeff Wolfe, Jim Wilson and Phillip Pappas.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Frank Blevins and Pastor Jerry Creasy officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Attoway Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
