Obituary of Edna E. Ritner

WYTHEVILLE, Va.

Edna E. Ritner, age 66, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Va.

Edna was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and sister. She loved the Lord and was faithful to the Gospel Light House in Wytheville. Edna enjoyed people and her time working at Cargo and Dairy Queen. She will be missed by her family, church family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Gladys Cali; daughters, Veronica Serviss and Lacy Ritner; brother, Harold G. Cali; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Augusta Ritner; and brother-in-law, Joseph Paul Ritner.

Edna is survived by her husband, Thomas Ritner of Wytheville, Va.; daughter, Bridget Ellison and husband, Alfred of Atkins, Va.; sons, Anthony Serviss and wife, Felipa of Conroe, Texas and T.J. Ritner of Long Island, N.Y.; sisters, Brenda Law and husband, Max, Plymouth, N.Y., Penny Brown, Marion, Va., and Cheryl Sodaro and husband, John of Magnolia, Texas, Jacqueline Lauden-lag of West Palm Beach Florida; brother, Anthony Cali and wife, Stacy of Wytheville, Va.; 11 grandchildren, Catherine, John, Patrick, Anthony John, Nicholas, Sherry, A.J., Angeleah, Dominick, Max and Jamison; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her special dog, Snowball.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2018 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
