"Every girl is crazy bout a smart dressed man" This makes me think of Mr. Ellis. I so enjoyed him every Sunday, especially now all grown, going home to visit. I enjoyed the video, seeing him in his younger years. Always had that style sense. Also his voice, Reading , singing the hymns and loving on the sign of the peace. He and Daddy were close. I know he will be missed. He is singing now.
Rest, good and faithful servant.

Mr. Ellis will truly be missed by so many. I first met him when he was my mailman. He did so much for so many & didn't ask for anything in return. He & Mrs. Ellis worked hard to raise a successful family. They instilled the values of honesty, pride, hard-work, compassion in all of their sons. Sending prayers & hugs to the family.

Joe will be missed! He was such a supporter of children with disabilities! He was our mailman at the Center for many years;he would often stop to get a drink of water (good excuse) and visit with the kids. Many times he would leave behind money for a special treat. He has supported and actively participated in many, many activities for the children of Smyth County and Summer Enrichment over the years. There was always a smile and warmth! You will be missed Joe Ellis!
