Obituary of Howard E Nunley

RURAL RETREAT, Va.: HOWARD NUNLEY, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Rural Retreat, Va.

Mr. Nunley spent his life managing and being good to people. He spent years at Super-X, Singletons Auto Parts and Auto Zone. If you knew Howard, you knew he'd leave you laughing. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for numbers. Mr. Nunley loved his family and was grateful for the care given to him in his final days.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Nunley; parents, Bill and Ethel Nunley; sister-in-law, Bonnie Nunley; and his faithful dog, Buttons.

Howard is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Collins and husband, Mike Jones, Stacy Lynn Nunley, and Leanne Hyler and husband, Danny all of Rural Retreat, Va., Ashley Nunley Alley of Wytheville, Va., Lisa Myers and husband, Ken of Abingdon, Va., Janet Bunnell and husband, Stephen of Blackstone, Va., Emily Ryback of Monroe, N.C.; sister, Peg Crusenberry and husband, Will of Bristol, Va.; brother, Coy Nunley of Chilhowie, Va.; 12 grandchildren, Scottie, Jamen, Kelleigh, Acelon, Alijeh, Ariana, Alderson, Draven, Zoe, Michael, Nathaniel, Sterling, Ainslie; great-grandchild, Kasen; three special nephews, Keith Brown, Steven Nunley, and Brian Nunley.

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Va. with Reverend Mike Sage and Reverend Paul Shallenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Attoway Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
